Email lists can be touchy. I am a member of several and have a half decent list of my own. Last week I signed up for Lowe's email so that I could get a 10% off coupon. Every day since then I have been getting these spam emails from Miracle Waist and Miracle Hair. This goes to show that you never know who is going to get your email address when you sign up or give someone your email.
With that said, it can be fun and rewarding to get yourself an email marketing list. Because who are we fooling? Everyone has to and does sell every day. First of all, get a good email marketing provider that gets the emails into the mailbox. I have tried MailChimp (free) and ActiveCampaign (paid). Paid versions of Email Marketing is better because you can get up to the moment reports on who is opening your emails.
Write your emails like you're a friend rather than a marketer. Then people get a chance to know you better. Or your company or whatever it is that you are doing. They say, in business, it is your responsibility to let people know what you have to offer. It is good for the economy.
As soon as you start sending out your emails you will see who is interested in what you have to offer and you can streamline your services to them. Continually weed out your list and some people will also ask to be unsubscribed. That's ok. It is all a part of the process.
Besides that, have fun! You obviously think what you are offering is fabulous. Good on you for thinking that it is worthwhile to share it with others!
